AMPS members from several chapters had an opportunity to see the above as part of the annual Atlanta AMPS show. Hands down, this is one of the best armored vehicle collections in the world, and it seems there are new additions almost weekly. Hats off to the Army for funding this and allowing future officer and enlisted personnel a unique view at the vehicles that helped shape the force today. We hope that the collection will also be open to the general public in the future.
If you get a chance to go, go!
Some views of the interior of the hall, which is roughly 100,000 square feet. Also seen are preparations for putting a vehicle into a bay and undergoing restoration.
Some of the vehicles currently in a holding area, awaiting a chance to be restored and part of the collection. Note the Panther. The collections boasts three of them with this one!
Some extremely rare and one-of-a-kind WWI and interwar armor.
